It's been a while since Dani offered me to go the karting, so finally yesterday we went to have some laps.
I just had run once in my live and that was such a long time ago, I can't even remember. To my surprise (an a little bit of indignation) the karts weren't prepared for... let's say... short people. I couldn't bring the chair closer to the wheel and the only option was putting a kind of pillow on my back.
Even then I couldn't reach properly the accelerator so I run on my tiptoe (which it really hurt at the end).
Don't they think women (or child) can also like to go karting??
Dani sais that next day I could try to put a piece of wood on the pedal, but I don't think it's going to work...
Anyway, that's a problem you lucky guys don't have...

You do have to register, but it takes 15 seconds, and then you have access to quite the collection of classic Grand Prix photography. I've just barely scratched the surface of the place, they have a TON of photos to look at, esp from my fav era, late 80s, early 90s... Enjoy!

If we had a time machine, we'd set it for 1970 and never look back. And once we landed, bought some new threads and scored one of the amazing cars in production at the time, we'd road trip it to Sebring so we could see that year's 12-hour enduro in person. Why? Because as good as modern sports car racing is, Sebring '70 is special. From the cars and drivers (a who's-who of legends including Mario Andretti, Jo Siffert, Pedro Rodriguez, Dan Gurney, Henri Pescarolo, and yes, Steve McQueen, who co-drove his Porsche  908 with Peter Revson despite having his broken left foot in a cast at the time), to the the overall atmosphere, Sebring, Florida on March 21, 1970 was very much the place to be.

Sadly, there's no time machine to take us back there, but there was a brilliant race documentary made of the 1970 12 Hours of Sebring. Follow the jump to see the story play out in fi...
