Reminds me off the BMW Z1.

Will this become the new lambo doors for ricers?

It's a cool idea... but I think the structural rigidity of the whole car would be affected by that mechanism somehow :? still an interesting idea... and as they say at the beggining, despite the BMW Z1 may be, we've been using the same door system since 1897

Imo very good idea and will be udes widely. They are probably not using same door structure so side crash will be fatal?

I don't think the side impact protection gets worse so much with that design. The door can be build tough and all it needs to do then is to attach firmly from the both ends. Ofcourse the missing B pillar is weakening the protection at least a little.
Very clever idea!

^^If they build them solid ofcourse it will replace doors without problems, on video I had a feeling that they are some kind "elastic" thin metal or so

I don't think it actually affects the rigidity of the car or the safety, but it'll certainly add some weight...

It would be a cool feature to have in the sense that it'll give you the good parking lot accessory without the wannabe rice look of the gullwing doors.

For some reason I doubt it'll be put to use anytime soon on production cars.
