Vintage Garage: an introduction
« on: 10-Dec-2007, 23:58:25 »
Just wanted to write down some basic guidelines for the classic car section aka Vintage garage...

  • I know it's hard to draw the line on what's and what's not a classic car. I always tend to define them as cars that gain value as time goes by. Is the BMW E30 M3 a classic? Yes. A Lancia Fulvia? Sure. Is the Ferrari Enzo a classic? using that rule... sort of yes too. In this section, we should try to stick to cars from 1985 and older. It's at the beggining of the 80s when many cars that we felt in love with when we were just kids appeared - case of the Testarossa or the Countach and the posters I'm sure you all had over your beds.
  • The Classic of the Month - we will have a special car featured each month. It would be great if you could throw in whatever info or photos or videos you have of this car so we can have a very complete topic for each model. Once the car loses the privilege of being the "classic car of the month" and the topic just gets buried, don't mind to bump it if you have new photos or videos of articles about it. Hopefully in the future we will end up having an important database with lots of info on many different classics... and that would be only possible if you could help us to build it. Check this topic on the Renault 5 Turbo as an example >>> http://rebels.busted.be/index.php/topic,16.msg34.html#msg34
  • If you want some classic that you like to be featured... just drop a PM to the section moderator - or open the topic yourself, so we will make it sticky the following month
  • Needless to say, feel free to post whatever event, concorso, video or anything you like... hopefully we can keep this section alive and active for a long time :D

That sounds like a great idea. Internationally, the 70's-80's brought some BRILLIANT cars forward. Of course, these days they're a bit retarded, but ahead of their time when new.

Can't wait to see how this will turn out
Point it. Punch it.

If you ask me (I know you don't :p) every board that respects itself should have a Classic Car section. And who better person to moderate this section than Everso!
