613hp Audi RS6 Plus in the pipeline?!

If there's anything the 580-horsepower Audi RS6 Avant isn't lacking, it's power. But according to AutoTelegraaf, Audi plans to launch a "Plus" version of its insane estate towards the end of the RS6 life cycle. According to the Dutch site, Audi insiders said that a new "Plus" version would go on sale sometime in 2011, just as the A6 is about to get a mild facelift. The "Plus" will supposedly receive tweaks to its suspension and engine, with the V10 producing 613 horsepower.

This wouldn't be the first time Audi offered a "Plus" variant of the RS6. The original, C5-based RS6, built from 2002 to 2004, got a boost in output during the last three months of production, netting an additional 30 hp (from 450 hp to 480 hp), through the use of a remapped ECU and two additional radiators mounted behind the intercoolers. The Plus version also benefited from standard DRC, 19-inch wheels and a sports suspension that dropped the wagon 10mm. Production was limited to just 999 units.

Sounds nice! Numbers are just ridiculous, but I forgive Audi I'm sure there's still some reserves in the engine, but they want to do it safely.

That needs some explaining, chest3r.

The previous RS6 plus was the ultimate family car. 613 hp doesn't sound bad for its successor. I wonder if they'll fit a padded bootlid to stop the labrador from getting bruises every time the driver puts his right foot down.

The "the more the better" rule hardly applied here... weighting over 2.5 tons... this car is a complete nonsense. Sorry. I'd rather have a 450hp family car weighting 1,700kg let's say... the RS4 Avant

It's just that I don't agree with so much power in this kind of cars ?? The most powerfull Ferrari on sale has 620hp....

613hp for a 4 seater would be in the range of a Flying Spur

I will never complain with this amount of horsepower in this überkombi. Of course the RS4 is more athletic and has more sense, but the RS6 is the RS6, it's the flagship of the RS lineup and yes I want to see in this car insane hp figures.

I want the RS4 to be force feed like it should have been the whole way, pushing 650 from that engine, that along with some weight reduction and heaven just got alot closer.....
