Again, a latter 944 S2 or Turbo (1990 for instance) is a great choice IMO.

914.. I tried aswell, but good ones are expensive, and cheap ones are crap.

As for the Beetle, dunno really, I'd like a 1'500 or 1'600 engine in fact, and maybe something weird like the auto tranny they offered later on
