Audi TT 2008

Hello guys,

i just read an article in the "auto,motor und sport" about the new changes for 2008 from Audi:

Mid 2008 - Audi TT-S - 270 hp ( engine from S3 ) - equipped with quattro technology ( Haldex with multidisk-clutch )
Mid 2008 - Audi TT Diesel - 170 hp Common Rail technology ( 200 hp version is in work )
Mid 2009 - Audi TT-RS - 340 hp with as new DSC gearbox

I'm sure we will have the S version of the TT soon here in North America, but we need a confirmation from everso about the RS version of the TT MKII, as far as I know we will not have this über TT, sadly there's no market for it according to Audi North America. About the diesel version...euh don't even think we live in a Petrol Kingdom.

Those 340hp for the TT-RS sound familiar... didn't the Audi S4 V8 had the same power figures? does it mean it will be V8... but not RS4-V8?

Great news. Not sure how a diesel TT will feel, but we'll see.

^ well, considering that the beemer 3-Series Coupe diesel is rather successful, I'm sure the TT-D is gonna be a good seller as well

Not sure about the engine the TT-RS will use... I prefer the V6 Biturbo personally, if they're gonna put a V8 on it... they should better use the one on the RS4

here's the deal...you guys are pretty much right!

fall of 08
2.0T Quattro - 220hp
2.0T "S" - 270hp

the "S" will have the same 2.0T engine, however it will have a KO4 Turbo (same as the 225 TT i have, along with upgraded internals)

TT TDI is definitely coming, it will probably be about 200hp, with 290lb/ft torque....should be pretty good performance

2.5L Turbo - RS (the first 5 cylinder turbo in a LONG time from Audi!!!)

this "RS" (may not be called that) will be 343hp, along with a rumoured RWD biased Haldex system.  A friend of mine told me that this "RS" has been VERY quick around the Ring....so it remains to be seen how well the production model does...as schwalbe said, most likely the US/Canada will not get the RS....but y'never know

I'm not a big fan of the new TT, unfortunately....so i won't be trading for any of these i'm afraid!

WTF only 220 out of the 2.0T?? mother fuckers, I hate it when they do shit like that!! personally I think the base model should have a min of 250 and then the top one should be pushing 380-400 and no I dont think it is too far fetched!!

i tend to agree with you.  however the 'current' 2.0T FWD TT is only 200hp...so the Quattro gets a small jump.  The GTI carries that 200hp as well.

but you're right....it should start at 250hp, and then at least have a 300hp version.....the same problem was with the MK1 TT, which had the terribly slow 180hp version as the base.....
