Not that bad, but the rear resembles a Lexus LS a bit too much...the kidney grills are also too large, and the headlight kinda looks like a 5-series'. Besides that, it's not bad. It's a really conservative update from the current 750/760, which is good.

Not bad, but it does indeed look like a Lexus, funny how it's not Lexus stealing design cues anymore, but the other way around.

Saw it last night an Jalopnik and I dno what you're on about. This thing looks amazingly bad.

First off it doesn't even look like a BMW, I agree it's more like a Lexus. That said, even if it was a Lexus, it'd still be an ugly ass pos. :P The rear lights look crappy, that huge front grille, the shape.

So disappointed...

The front's fine. The rear, however, is shiteous.

The rear lights might look lexus but the car itself doesn't. I stand with my opinion it looks way much better than the current one.

I'd have to disagree when it comes to the side profile:

huge thumbs down for that exhaust. speaks volumes about lexus' styling that ferrari and bmw have taken very obvious cues from them recently. i think its nice overall but a bit dissapointing. im sure it would still look good in the metal but if i was in the market for a large saloon i would probably take the LS

I also dislike that little thing on the front fender/front door...they should also hide the exhaust pipe, just like how they did on the current 750.

I'd have to disagree when it comes to the side profile:

(Image removed from quote.)

Without any bias though, it does look better than the Lexus.

However, that isn't saying much.

Personally, I'm disappointed because they played it safe. I expected much more, especially after seeing the GINA concept. Where are all the futuristic curves and all? It's like BMW chickened out for this model after the heat they got from the last. What they don't seem to realize is that because they took a leap of faith last time, the general public are now more open to the more eccentric designs.

Oh well. I guess if you want a large German saloon, the only real choice now is Audi.

Sorry but the previous one, pre-facelift, had much more personnality IMO. Look at these rear lights, they are ugly  :? the front is a melting of 5-series and 6 series. Really disappointed ... The S-Class and Audi A8 can sleep without fear.
It seems that they designed it for China. :bad:

I agree with you. BMW did take it too safely; they should have gone out on a limb...the public would have accepted it anyways just for the badge.

It doesn't matter to me though, if I were in the market for a large sedan in would be the S-class or for a bit more the Q-port, hands down.

Yup in my mind the S-class would be the most likely candidate of a large sedan... To me although the Audi A8 looks great, especially its interior, it can't match the current S-class, and this new beemer is just not special enough after the last BMW models, both its interior and exterior are just same old stuff...

Well, with the Q'porte and the A8 - if you drive it, it looks like your car. With the S, when you drive it, you look like the Chauffeur.
