Not if it's the AMG

You do know that 90% of Joe Public doesn't know the difference between a AMG and a regular Merc right?

When they see an AMG go by, all they say is "nice wheels!"

It's the same story with the BMW M cars and the Audi RS's.

Not if they're on full throttle

I'm just kidding, it depends on where you are really, but I'd say the cars that you'd expect to have a driver are the Maybach and RR Phantom kind, not Mercedes S.

Admittedly, there's a lot of truth in what you said.

In London (and here, Manila), the hotels use Merc S-classes for their guests. Hence the chauffeur stigma. The more exclusive hotels use the Maybach and the RR's.

In Italy, they use the E-class as a taxi. Seriously. I was with the family on a tour, and when we wanted to go around a bit more, we called for a taxi. Lo and behold, a silver E-class showed up with "Taxi" on the roof.

The Mercs are the most used taxis here in Norway too, the "best" taxi I saw was in Copenhagen Denmark where I was kinda baffled to see a Porsche Cayenne with a taxi sign on.... :good:

But on this BMW crap, once again BMW fumbled with their design and made an ugly melting korean knock off of a car in this case lexus knock off and the front somehow resemble me of an Dodge or Chrysler or something in that neigbourhood....not a good thing either of them imo...

Sadly BMW dropped the ball once again and I do not see it returning to its former glory anytime soon sadly....

I have never really liked the looks of the 7-series and this new one doesn't really change that fact. I don't even know what is exactly that I don't like about them, but somehow BMW just doesn't look that good as big as 7-series.

it looks good, but the s-class is the best looking big car at the moment, but there will be a new A8 out in 2 years, maybe this one...

Bang on.

Frankly, I think the 7 series just exists to make the 5 series look sporty.

Lates Audis have looked very good, so I trust A8 will not differ from the trend. :good:
