Im a tech at Bentley San Diego wich also is Bugatti SD, yesterday we had 4 veyrons in the shop, all getting serviced. To answer the question about the tire, its 17k for one rear tire. THe reason for this is that there is only one machine in the whole world that can mount those tires, and its in molshein(sp) france. so there is a set or two in socal that get shipped overnight to wherever they need to go in the US. the first service(1500mi) is upwards of $10k because of how expensive the fluids are, and the cost of flying a technician/engineer arouind the world to work on them.
Well... for us mortals these service bills are pretty much unaffordable... but the ones lucky enough to own a Bugatti Veyron do not even ask for the price, they just send their accountant and problem solved.
Wow. Those numbers blow your mind. Some peoples cars cost less then the maintenance on that car.
17k for a tyre sounds pretty ridiculous.. I woulda thought 5-6k for a 407km/h tyre would be high enoughI wonder how many times it rotates per second at 407km/h
365/710 R 540 A is the rear tire size of the Veyron. 710 being the overall diameter in mm, we find the tire circumference to be approx 2230mm or 2.23m. 407km/h translates into approx 113m/s. So that would mean the rear tire would have to rotate almost 51 times to go 113m in one second. I've also read somewhere that at top speed the Veyron tires must be replaced after about 15 minutes of use, although you would run out of gas before that point since the Veyron will exhaust a full tank in something like 11 minutes at top speed.
365? damn. LOL.i think i remember those full speed stats as well....crazy stuff.oh and welcome Sentra-dude! good to see you!
Hey man, thanks for the welcome! I just found out about TAU today. And in case you were worried that I maybe changed my mind, do not fear, I still despise the Veyron!
Welcome to the forums. I'm sure you'll change your mind about the Veyron if you'd ever get a chance to drive one. I haven't heard a negative car test for it yet. People always seem stunned.
