... a.k.a who's got the bigger one according to TT

As a dedicated section isn't necessary yet, we could also use this topic for any photography related question etc.

I still have my 350D/Digital Rebel Xt (it's 2 years old now ... might be replaced next summer ) + BG-E3 grip.
Canon 17-40 f4 L
Canon 70-200 f4 L IS (my new toy \o/)
Lowepro Slingshot 100AW
Manfrotto 055PROB + 804RC2 head
Hoya 77mm polarizer + Hoya 67mm PRO1 Digital CPL

I recently tested the 70-200 (dog photography is complicated) and dear God it's such a stunning lens  :good: Can't wait for warmer days to try it on a decent car  :)

My turn. I started with a now totally crappy Olympus C3000 3.2 MP, followed by a little bridge, the very good Canon Pro 1 (8.2 MP) and my first reflex camera, a Canon 350D.

Right now:

Canon 30D + battery grip
Canon 17-40 F4 L
Canon 70-200 F2.8 L IS
Hoya polarizer filter

Next planned improvement is probably a flash, as I felt the need for it a couple of times lately..

Nikon D70s

AF-S Nikkor 18-70 1:3.5-4.5 G ED - kitlense
AF Nikkor 80-200 1:4.5-5.6 D - from my dad's odl analogic Nikon F50 :?

Can't complain really... but I'm thinking on trading the Nikon for a Canon with proper lenses in a couple of months

Got my first camera exactly a year ago now and since then ive been slowly spending too much money on new kit.

So far i've got:
Canon 400D
50mm F/1.8
70-200 F/4 L
A manfrotto tripod but dont know which one exactly
And yesterday i got a 17-40 F/4 L

Not sure what the next upgrade will be.

The 17-40 F4 L is for sure the most common L lense around here :)

I'm more located in the Everso same "simple" camera category.

But, at least I can take MPEG-4 - 640 x 480 - 30 fps videos and you can't with your fancy cameras.  :butt:

Dang, some of you have serious collections of photog stuff!  :good:

Right now I have
-Nikon D50
-18-55mm kit lens
-55-200mm  f/4-5.6G
-polarizer
-tripod

I was considering getting a 70-300mm lens of mid-range flavor, but I think for the time being I've decided against spending the money there...

Have a Canon PowerShot A75. No pro camera offcourse, but a bit better then your average soap box I would say. It's a few years old by now and a few weeks back something broke, so now all the pics are weird purplish. Basically it means I'll be on the market for a new one soon and I'm not ruling out a DSLR.

Any suggestion for a first DSLR? Not too expensive keep in mind, I'm a student after all. :D

I think your best option would be to go with either Nikon or Canon, as if you really get into it as a hobby these offer the most upgrades from what ive seen. youll probably be looking at either a canon 400D or Nikon D40 (i'm not very clued up on the nikon range though) the advice i got was to go to a shop and get a feel for them both though, as theres not really much between them so how they feel in your hands will probably be the deciding factor.

I wouldn't go for the D40, it's cheap and all but I think it doesn't have an in-body focus motor, that means non-AF-S/AF-I lenses are manual focus only.

But I'm not really into that Nikon crap  j/k ...

I use the one my parents have, borrow it every now and then. Canon Powershot G2, with 1.5x lens.

Ok, couldn't resist that long:

Speedlite 580EX II

Bought it some hours ago, and I am in love.

Tried two sec, indoor and it's damn impressive:

polarizer filter, F4.5 1/125 with the 70-200 F2.8 IS, at 190mm from about two meters, indirect flash...

Can't wait to really need it at events or such :D
