Had an oil change party this weekend. Two other 348 owners and I got together to get some work done on our cars. My car underwent an engine oil and gearbox oil change. It got some nice Redline 5W40 (10 quarts)  and 75W90NS (4.2 quarts). Afterwards, three of us made a convoy to Hooters for a well deserved lunch following which Jeremy and i went for a fun drive on a twisty road to finish up a wonderful day.

Doing the oil change

Lunch at Hooters thereafter

High Speed drive to make sure everything was done correctly

Pls excuse the shameless bump of this topic ... I like seeing Sophia on Page 1. :)

Shameless bump excused, but only because you posted some Ferrari pics.

It must have been a fun day to cruise around with a couple other 348s.

I though the F average driver was more into Starbucks rather than Hooters

 That's what the Corvette guys would like you to think.  :D I think the guys who buy the older cars are in a different league from the ones who buy the new cars. I can sense the distinction in my local club itself. The old car guys are more into the cars than the new ones.

It was a lovely day with blue skies and moderate temps - perfect for working on the cars and the drive afterwards. :)

That's 100% true, and not only for F owners!

I mentioned in my original post on JW (not MW ;)), that I always wanted a Series Speciale version of the 348 (which came with uncovered taillights) that looked brilliant. I wasn't a huge fan of the slats covered taillights on the standard 348. It looked OK but kinda cut down on visibility of the taillight - more form than function if you know what i mean.

I couldn't find any Speciales for sale at the time and had to settle for a reg TS that (fortunately for me) had the horizontal slats removed. At least, this seemed like a step in the right direction even though it looked unfinished IMO.

Initial look:
The previous owner had left the vertical bars behind and with the grill about 2 inches away from the away from the lights. It looked a bit crude particularly when seen from the rear 3 qtr angle. I intended to do something about this after I took ownership of the car.

Intermediate look
Here, I removed the rear grill and attached horse. It looked good to me particularly with the vertical bars eyesore deep sixed. But, the space between the lights was empty and I missed the horsey. :)

Final look
My brother and I rigged up some spacers to bring the lights out, cut the vertical bars from the grill and trimmed the grill mesh to expose the reverse light. We painted the mesh black to provide a better contrast to the lights and the horse.

I love it now - It looks much better. Hope you like the change. Well, you better or I will borrow Arman's contracted hit man to bump you off.  :D

I guess the threat about using Arman's hitman must be real good as even Dani (the famed strake lover) likes the new look.  :)

LOL! I confess I still prefer the 348 with the original rear grille, but yours looks pretty nice now, I have to admit. And it doesn't look that bad without it afterall, I'm just exagerating all the time, as I always do MIHALS' angeleyes..... :P

Spring pictures ...

Unfortunately, we don't have wonderful scenic shooting here in TX - like Alps in the background, or ocean/rock backdrop of Highway 1 in California. :(

But, we do get great wildflower explosions during Spring time. I washed my car yesterday and then went on a drive when I came across this nice curbside flower display. I love my car - she is a beaut

Enjoy the pictures!
