Just a rendering, I doubt the CLK will look as bad as that.

I hope the real thing will be better than this, because like that, it's quite crap IMO.

Really not digging this boxy look Merc is doing. All the new cars look like shite now IMO. The current gen CLS and SLK are their best looking cars.

Or the new C-Klasse for that matter - I spotted a C350 Sport in Andorra this weekend and what a beauty it is!! I'd take it over any BMW E90 or Audi A4 anyday

I like the new designs coming from MB.  :D

although I'm not a fan of the recent photoshops of the new e class and this clk. The lights look wrong.

I liked the C-class very much, but this doesn't look good. Side line that gets higher towards the rear reminds me of fat ass women.... not good :bad: Those headlights are also ugly.

Well, you can't really say the new C216 CL is crap, can you?

Not exactly crap, but recently, there always seems to be something amiss.

Think of it this way - if you look at the current Audi's, they all look "cohesive" - the front, side, and rear profiles all subliminally say "this is one car". Yet upon closer inspection of each, none of the cars are actually identical. They've managed to make each car cohesive, not just with itself, but with the entire "family", and without losing their individuality.

With the current Mercs, save for the CLS and the SLK, there's always something that disturbs that cohesive look.

The new CL for example - front and side profiles? wonderful. Circle round to the back, and suddenly you're thinking - somehow that part feels a bit "sad" or "droopy" compared to the angry front and side.

The new C - the details look brilliant, then when you stand back and look at it, you notice that the proportions seem wrong - the car is too short for its lines and cuts. It almost looks like it's standing bolt upright because of the mismatched length and details - imagine if you made the new C as long as the CLS - basically you would have the muscular version of the CLS. If the CLS was a Mafia boss, a longer C would've been the Mafia hitman. At the current length, it just reminds me of an ugly bulldog - muscular, but stunted.

The AMG version doesn't really fix the problems too - they simply added "stuff" to the car. Nothing really purposeful - just a lot of tasteless eye candy for their ostentatious (read: hip hop) customers.

Now this new CLK - looks fine, until those ittie-bittie headlamps - why are they there? They look like matching pimples!

I'm not saying BMW is doing any better - but IMO, the M3 is exactly what the new 3 is supposed to be - long, butch,  and angry. Honestly, I'm aching to see what the M3 CSL is going to look like.

Although admittedly, minus the flares and the engine bump, the 3 is really bland.

First though Lexus when I saw those headlights..

Looks like what the CLS would of been with 2 doors.. But man, they should of just stuck with those one piece headlights..

I'm really not feeling this one.  I haven't liked the CLK since the first generation.  I think it's gotten too bubbly looking.

Was never a big fan of the current CLK. I think you could take it out of the MB line up and not loose a great deal. As for the new one, it dosn't look like anything to get excited over

This rendering is nothing to get excited about, but neither is the current CLK...

However, Sir_GT, I think most modern Mercs look pretty good, I absolutely love the CL, and when i first saw the new C class i was stunned, it just looks like it's 2 classes up on the 3series and A4 (although I havent seen the new A4 in the metal yet)

Also, I think the distinction between Audi models isn't perfect, IMO some cars look alike too much...

Ow, and IMO the 3 series coupe is a stunningly classy looking car :D
