1990 Mazda Miata
« on: 28-Mar-2009, 18:23:41 »
Hello guys. I've been drooling over one of these for quite some time now. I finally made the decision to buy one. The handling is just amazing. I don't plan on any major mods. So far I've put in a full stainless steel exhaust, cold air intake, chrome roll bar and a new black leather with red stitching shifter boot cover. Enjoy.

Cheers!  :good:

you may want to check out the TeamVoodoo shiftknobs to accent the new boot, they are fantastic, i have the pearl finish one, and the Mazdaspeed pedals make toe-heeling much easier!

 yeah...LS1 would be insane; that's why they call 'em "Monster Miata"  :whip:
It's got 220,000 kms on it. However, it's been taken care of: no rust, runs like new. I drove a newer generation one (NB) for comparison and while it was faster, it just didn't feel as raw; you didn't feel as connected to the road. I don't plan on any bigger wheels. I like the stock look and plan on keeping it that way. Plus, they would ruin the road holding.

i went from my stock 16" to 15" wheels, Kosei KS1 - they are super lightweight (around 10lbs each) and look great.

Nice car Mihai, around here it is considered a hairdressers car, bit I kind of like its lines and from what I have heard it handles great and you cant beat an open top on a great summers day... :good:

Well, Espen, I really don't give a fuck what people think about it. I enjoy it. Once the top is down the smile comes on; it's amazing.  :D
My wife and I have actually started driving just for driving's sake.  It's so much fun to take to the back roads on a nice warm evening.

haha I had a ducati 996 owner make that comment while waiting at a light going onto a free way in my last miata (620ish RWHP)
Needless to say I changed his mind, amazing how people's perceptions change after you show them taillights from 60ish mph to 140

:p

Paul, I can't even imagine what a 600+ hp Miata would feel like.  That's insane; I bet it spun the wheels in 5th

it would light them up soon as the boost hit in pretty much any gear, I had a build thread on jabbasworld about the car a long long time ago. It was a monster, getting 600+hp on race gas out of a 1.8 is a challenge. I answered it with a modded SC61 turbo and tec3r engine management ;)

Congrats on an awesome purchase! My dad has a '94 and I've driven it quite extensively. I'd like to think I've driven a nice selection of cars, including some pretty expensive and fast ones, and it's hard to think of another car I've driven that's more fun than a Miata.  :)

A good friend of mine used to have a ratty '94 (all the more fun because you could drive it like you stole it and not feel guilty ) and his brother-in-law always used to give him shit about how he was a ghey for driving a Miata, etc. Then one day he finally broke down and drove the Miata. Guess what was parked in the brother-in-law's driveway a week later? A Miata. Who's the ghey now!   :good:
