This story is almost coming to an end. I've been putting a lot of money in this car the past year or so, and it's almost where I want it to be.
Almost time to stop worrying and start enjoying the car more. She already drives beautifully but after these last bits, it'll be perfect
Recently done-to do:
- new AFM
- new master and fuel relays
- new cold start valve
- new additional air slide valve (regulates idle)
- new ignition switch
- replaced fuel pump and filter myself last friday (what a mess...)
- new pre-pump and sender still to be installed this week + new gaskets
- new throttle position sensor to be installed this week
- recently had an oil change + filter (Castrol TWS 10W60)
- new airfilter
- new radiator (old one not all that great anymore after 26 years)
- new mid-muffler (old one is blown to bits inside from all the backfires when the AFM was bad)
After all this, she's going to take us to the south of France, should be fun
When we're back I'm going to attend the front lip which needs to be resprayed, attend some minor rust issues, start looking again for some new rims and give her a full detail
And hopefully next year I'll have time to attend RR2011

Remember you need to have your permanent license to go to France

I know it's almost a month before, but I'll probably forget when the time comes, so: good luck with your test!
Impressive list of things-to-do. When your car first appeared on this forum I thought it already looked like new, so I wonder what it'll look like when you're done...

Thanks, I think I'll need it
95% of all things done to the car were under the hood. The outside was pretty good to begin with, as was the underside. Pretty solid as a whole. Car does deserve a full detail, which is coming up sometime in the next month or so. And then the front lip respray and new rims/tires.
Then I think I'll be pretty happy with the result

Finally got around to giving my car a good clean. Was almost a grey car looking from a distance with all the crap, dust and mud, so it really needed some loving!
Also bought a new set of rims, they'll be here soon
BBS RC035/38 with 235/45/17 in the front and 255/40/17 in the back.
I'm a pretty happy camper

Not my first choice, but the set I really want is 2700€ or more, without tires...so that'll have to wait a bit until my money reserves have recovered a bit from the past year of M635CSi restoring

Haven't had time to go pick them up yet. Hoping for some time this week, but ultimately next weekend I guess.
So watch this space

Picked up my new set of wheels last Saturday somewhere in the Netherlands, but didn't have time until today to put them on. I must say I'm impressed, although I'd still prefer a set of 17in BBS RS, but ah well, gotta start somewhere...
In-tank pump and sender have also been replaced, did that myself, and that still ever improved the running culture of the engine. Tomorrow a new fuel pressure regulator goes in (other 'new' one was bad) and some other small stuff. And clean it because Chief's pretty damn filthy again.
Here's some (quick & dirty ) pics (they look a bit weird due to lens deformation in some shots)

Thanks!
They are actually less heavy than the original TRX rims + tires. And the ride quality is actually slightly better, still pretty stiff but seem to catch the bumps better than those old TRX things.

You were absolutely right, they do look very smart
If the other rims wouldn't have been TRX, those would have polished up really nicely too though
