Agreed, McLaren played it safe with the styling and I'm bored of it already. And it will be out in just under 2 years.

From my part, I'm not very excited and impressed.  :suspicious:

I prefer an ''Audi'' Gallardo or R8 V10.  ;)

You know your design fails when the older car looks newer than the new car.

Worst. Name. Ever.

Like most everyone else I'm a bit disappointed with the looks. The things that let it down are the color, wheels, busy rear end, and the odd front end. I think with more suitable wheels and a darker color it would look quite a bit better. The steering wheel is pretty weird as well, honestly it looks like something out of a corny American car.

I'm not completely dismissing the looks though; I think it does have a cool concept-car look to it and some interesting details such as the side intakes and the seats. Here's to anxiously awaiting some more pictures of it out of the studio and on the street with a different body color.

The specs are pretty impressive, but with a car like this it's less about how fast it is (since every car in this segment is blisteringly fast) and more about how good it is dynamically and what sort of feeling it gives the driver, which we can't know until some journo takes it for a serious drive...so for now we can only really comment on the looks.

I find it pretty random and this is not what one would expect from McLaren. This sort of car should be special, have a reminding trait, this one has nothing special to be remembered.

Disappointing interior and exterior design. 3.8 turbo instead of a big capacity V12/v8 is boring but maybe becoming a reality due to emissions stranglehold. To me the main missing factor is single minded and obsessive approach to car designing every part of the car unlike the F1. McLaren Cars without Gordon Murray kinda deflates my expectations.

Like Sentra said, it has interesting potential based on the specs. Let's see how much of that translates into reality. The 458 Italia is better looking (despite its humongous headlights).

Would be interested in a future shoot out with its prospective competitors.

Jay Leno got a ride in the test mule when he visited the McLaren headquarters back in June, on the "Top Gear" airfield!! Lucky guy! :good:

Nice vid, Jay Leno as always is super cool and down-to-earth. The camo is cool looking, it looks very fast and well balanced, but dang it sounds boring.

It looks pretty badass in all matte black, but it still sounds boooooring as hell. I hope they change the exhuast around to give it some character like an F40.
