I'm surprised the finish was allowed to stand. When i saw it on TV I was sure it would be taken from Flying Lizard. Exciting though. It's amazing what the Vette team was able to accomplish in only 5 races.
I think they'll do some serious ass kicking next year.

wow, i did not catch this race and  had no idea this went down. really intense.

the reason for bergmeister's reaction:

Sebring 2007 GT2 12hr race battle

looks like they both got sanctioned

That was really exciting to watch but the ending was....controversial, to say the least.

It was a douche move from the Vette driver and the Porsche driver responded likewise, very cool battle before that though.

That was fucking intense!!!

The ending was a bit controversial... sure the Vette had the inside, but the Flying Lizard Porsche really learned his lesson from Sebring 2007! Seems to me that if Magnussen hadn't kicked the back of the 997 at the last turn... he would've gone wide, so that was not that fair either

Vette had the speed but his job is to pass cleanly. As a race driver he should be able to do that....

You cant just smack into the back of another car, push him wide and then just expect him to let you drive up the inside...

Sorry but Im glad that Porsche dude got to keep the win....

I'm happy Porsche won but it wouldn't be too disappointing if the Corvette did, both are fantastic cars.  :good:

I saw the race on Speed...probably the only racing series worthing to watch on this channel.  ;)

Man the final battle was great and I'm also glad the Flying Lizard won because it was a cheap move from Vette.

I don't know, I'm still not convinced that Bergmeister didn't "brake checked" the Corvette there. But in any case, one thing is a little bump, beacuse if Magnussen had really wanted tu upset the Porsche he'd had hit it in th 3/4 angle, to make it rotate like a spinning top (something that can be seen in touring car racing almost everyday), and another thing is to ram someone into the wall.

well like goodduck said, Flying Lizards were robbed of their victory at the 2007 Sebring 12 hours (which is 1 of the 2 really prestigious races in the ALMS) from a similar move, I guess they really didn't want it to happen again. I think both drivers crossed the line and both were deservedly punished.

Other than that, the battle was just amazing  :good: absolute top-quality racing, the move they both made on the Ford GT was awesome!

Very exciting race, I really think the Porsche did what he had to do, if it was me I would've done the same thing. The last lap between De Ferran and Fernandez was very very intense. It's sad that the Fernandez team will likely disappear for the lack of sponsors :(

I don't see the Sebring 07 move to be dirty like Magnussen's...
