Oh so sad. Was such a great car...

Its interesting to see cars made from composites in crashes. The bodywork doesn't mangle, it just tears

A CGT on slippery roads ... and that's the result. It has a reputation to be demanding to drive fast and to not forgive its driver.

Why is that everytime I see a supercar with russian/romanian/bulgarian plates... first thing that comes to my mind is the word showoff?!

They said it hit a tire? What, like scraps of a retread from a truck/lorry?

I hit a big one in my car doing about 60, did some damage. I can't imagine what it would do to a car doing 120mph and with the ground clearance of a snake...

That sucks. At least it didn't meet its fate by being turned into some hideously modded car for a Dubai dweller.

As I remember this isn't the easiest car to drive fast. The good thing is that it might scare of some idiots from buying it just because the have money, the bad thing is that the few idiots who can't drive and still buy one will probably end up crashing it.

That sucks... It does look like the CGT did a pretty good job protecting the passenger compartment, especially if it was a 200kph crash.

Seems to me that the CGT population is decreasing at a significant rate - I think there were at least 5 crashes this year that resulted in a total write-off. It's time for a "Save the CGT Tshirt" just like "Save the Enzos".

The T/c on this car is very subtle unlike the regular 911s - you need to really respect the car's power and road conditions before you can give it a bootfull of throttle.

that actually looks repairable. And at the cost of that car, it probably will be. Not that his insurance company will be happy about it

I always wonder about reparing cars with a carbon fibre structure. I know carbon fibre tends to almost fall apart once damaged... how do you repair that with enough confidence that its actually roadworthy?

carbon fibre is repaired just like fiber glass, some layers of the material and epoxy

but structures like cars and aircraft wings, they have to be replaced, structural rigidity and strength is very important.
