The Courage tipped today at the port in Jersey City causing major damage to over 300 BMWs not including 70+ BMWs that were total losses.

a majority of the destroyed vehicles were M3s (mostly in dark blue) with a variety of 3ers and 1ers smashed up as well.

Bad build quality, their handbrake gave up and that's what made the ship go coocoo  

Mostly M3's, so no real loss to the carworld, just some posers that'll have to wait a little longer to pose and some other people that'll have to wait a little longer for their new organs

Somebodys gonna be in a bit of trouble for that, and someone else should get the engine from one of them and stick it in an E30 or something.

The insurance will cover it, so no big drama afterall....

If those were CSLs instead, then the story would be different, but the M3 is so plain booring hopefully some customers, tired of waiting, will swtich and get a C63 instead

As for the "disaster", sure sad, and 370 buyers will have to see their car's delivery delayed a little bit (I wonder if they'll end up at the end of the line basically now)...

Those cars with light damage will be repaired at the Elizabeth Receiving facility and sold through BMW's dealer network as new cars.

Now, would you want one? Some of the cars must have a bent rear axel or then really bold camber angle to start with

Ouch. Say what you will but an M3 is still quite a big loss I think. However there's plenty more where those came from, so nothing major. Sad for the people that wont be getting their cars straight away, but they will eventually.

Almost the same thing happened to my father when he was waiting for his Mazda 6, I think that one went down in the english channel....

Was it the ship that was then cut half before lifting up? Cars in the deck were also cut half. I remember some pics.

Yup, remember that one as well. I think those were mostly Volvos on there though, wonder if it's the same ship.

I dotn have a clue what it was, I only remember being told something happened to the ship so the cars where destroyed and I remember one going down in the channel it might have been that one dont know it it was the same.....

I do know he had to wait a few more months for his car tough....

Yep, Volvos and BMWs in the car. I think it was posted to JW years ago.
