How much you have to make to own sportscar/supercar
« on: 13-Jan-2010, 22:11:44 »
I was thinking about that alot in the past and still cant understand it. To own a Murcie, Rolls, 911 or even M3 or Jag... how much you have to make yourself a month to keep those cars running and be able to sell them in few years and buy a new toy + people who have those cars have a huge ass house and other flats/ houses as investments etc. I just cant get in my mind the figure they have to have monthly on theyr accounts to afford this kind of luxury.

I dont know why I am gibber this here its just I get so frustrated after I meet people like that(met one dude today) and when I look at what I have done sofar(well nothing LOL) how FAR I have to go to make this reality for myself I feel so fucked up :nutz: sh*t what do i do wrong?

To make it all worse theres rare-ass M5 Touring 3.8 for sale here for a incredible price... son of a bitch!  :roulette:

All is well. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. There is richness in other things besides money. Plus, just like how it can always be better, it could always be worse.

I gotta seriously reconsider my work ethics and plan of work

I actually believe that most of rich folks worked hard or/and smart to get there but as I said I guess I just cant confront the summ they have to make every month, in my eyes its just not real that a person can have income like this

There is nothing wrong with you man.

Alot of times it luck too. When I was 20 I wanted to buy a new car.. There was 2 blocks of land in a city near where I live for $15,000 each. My dad said said get the land, but I got the car instead...

Those blocks of land sold for $110,000 each last year...

If I'd have bought those blocks of land I'd have $220k just like that.

I reckon half of its luck... The other hard work....

Also trust me I've seen plenty of rich people who dont make their money honestly. Eventually too Karma comes around to get those people... Even if it takes 20 years, it always catches up with you..

So dont stress, like the other said as well, there is much more to life than money..

I deal with people who have 3-4-5million dollar houses. Trust me they are always worried about  things that could get stolen etc etc.

Thats my 2 bobs worth.

Only one important rule to remember, do not buy what you cannot afford... even if you have good credit.

Having said that.. 3.8 M5 Touring!@?#?!$?

The thing is with running a business imo is if you do it angel white all the time you will fight alot more to generate the same amount of money compared to someone who operates in the grey area, they are in the grey area yes but not breaking the law, you need to find the line where you get as much out as you can without getting fucked by the law...
the ones doing everything angel white all the time doesnt get any rewards for doing it that way so I say fuck it and go as far as you can without breaking the law if you really crave the money train that is...

But as Guyon says there are other things in this world besides money also.....there are also of course women and the ones you get for money aint the ones you want to keep..... ;)

Pretty much sums it up, unless you get lucky.

I know what you guys are saying that money isn't everything but I'm still hungry for a couple supercars and a few vacation homes around the world.

ARMAN, I wouldn't get too down on yourself. There's nothing wrong with striving to be successful. You never know where these people get their money from, sometimes they've worked really, really hard to get to that point, sometimes they were born into it, sometimes they stole it, or maybe it's some combination of those.  Some people just get really lucky and are able to take advantage of a great opportunity and that's how they make a lot of money.

I had a neighbor in New Orleans who was in his early 30s but owned four supercars, including two very rare and expensive classic Lamborghinis. How did he get there? He was an extremely successful lawyer, who no doubt worked his ass off in law school and as a lawyer and was also an extremely bright guy.

I know a lot of people don't believe it, but I still do...if you work really hard and make good decisions with your money you can do pretty well for yourself. Maybe you won't own two rare Lamborghinis, but you will have enough to live better than the vast majority of people in this world, which is saying something.

There is nothing wrong with you man.

Alot of times it luck too. When I was 20 I wanted to buy a new car.. There was 2 blocks of land in a city near where I live for $15,000 each. My dad said said get the land, but I got the car instead...

Don't feel so bad about missing out on that spanky. It looks good now, but just think if land prices had crashed instead of rallying after you spent $30,000 of your own money. You could have lost a good bit of your money. Just as an aside, land speculation is why so many people in the USA are losing their houses. They thought they knew something about real estate and they were looking to make a quick & easy buck but instead they got burned.

I know what you guys are saying that money isn't everything but I'm still hungry for a couple supercars and a few vacation homes around the world.

I have heard the "money is not everything" mantra over and over, total BUNK!!!! If you live in this world, money - wealth, is everything, if everything to you is quality of living, independance, and better opportunities for your family. I know, I know, "we should be grateful for what we do have, for our health and the health of those we love....."  and, again, wealth is what everything boils down, with wealth we can take care of those we love better. These statements like "money is not what is important" are to keep those of us without from going after those with!
So, Driy, do not apologize for intuitively recognizing the truth mate! If you're not born into wealth or not one of the brilliant, or lucky, few (VERY FEW) who can generate wealth through craft or invention, then the best you can hope for is to learn to do what you do well and spend lots of years at it. When you get older (like me!) it starts to pay off somewhat; if you dont get yourself into some kind of financial trap! It helps if you dont ever get married or have children!
Then you can get a cool car or two and maybe a decent house....
...for the super-cars and stuff???? Well, brush up on your entreprenurial skills and go down to the "cross roads".  (http://www.mudcat.org/rj-dave.cfm)

I think you could make an inexpensive sportscar/supercar but you would need to have the skill and talent of a whole car company. Not to mention forgo any safety or handling tests.

one simple rule I came across is:

I you work as an employee, you'll never be able to own a 350k€ Murcie  (well, top end banker maybe)
you need people to work for you to get that amount of money
means starting your own business
