Or else, not even a GT3 RS would be allowed on the road

If you have a full cage, the bars that go past the driver in the front have to be removable. GT3 only has a rollover bar (partial cage) in the back right?

The rollcage installed must be homologated, and once installed, the car needs to go through a technical inspection... not sure if it's really the way it works, but I remember it was something similar.

I prefer to get a track-only car and avoid all those complications... and the Clio is pretty simple at that

Slowly but surely... it's definitely getting there  :good:

How tail happy is the car now with all that weight removed from the rear of that car?

It's not that my brother has taken the 325 out quite often lately... the car has been "hidden" in the garage for some time now... but he did take it for a spin about half a year ago, when he was starting to strip it out... and well, the car felt pretty much as tail happy as it was when it had the back seats on. The big difference came with the suspension: it has "custom made" Koni suspensions (can't say how "custom made" they are as I am no expert, but I know they're not stock :suspicious:) and this is what made the car really tail happy

Finally, after months and months with the car stopped, today my brother has decided to put his hands again on her. The rollcage should be installed by now. Here're a couple of pics I shot with the iPhone

Funny thing, we discovered this little badge under the trunk lid. It says something like KREISVERWALTUNG * DAUN and Daun happens to be a little town just 30km from Nürburg, where the Eifel rally has its service area  the car started his life in german, and after 3-4 years was sold in Spain. My bro is the 4th owner. Seems that this car lived quite close to the Nordschleiffe when she was young

what are the next things on the to do list? you said sth. about a koni suspension - already fitted? how happy are you with it?

If you mess up the welding with the rollcage let me know I know a DTM chassis that is currently for sale :D

LOL at the cartoon! In my brother's defense... I'll say that the car came with the ///M badge on it

The suspension is Koni indeed, but it's been tweaked a little for a Koni specialists (and owner of a 270hp street-legal M3 E30): it's sensibly stiffer... and according to my bro (the family official testdriver) is sooo much better than the previous set-up :)

Would be awesome indeed to bring the 325i back to its homeland, but with the short-ratio gearbox and a top-speed around 180kmh... the looong, fast Nordschleiffe would be just too much  and there're other plans in the family involving the Ring and the upcoming RR ;)

Worth a shot -

Any chance you're removing those beautiful Euro-spec metal bumpers?

The 325i is at the paintshop...

It's gonna be full-white... and probably with some sort of FINA/Bastos livery :)
