It's been a 4.6L for a long time now, but they are bringing back the 5.0L power plant.  I don't know a whole lot about Mustangs, but I don't think they were every a 5.4L, but I could be wrong.

Sorry I meant the 4.6ltr... In OZ , ford uses the mustang block I think, but ours is a 5.4ltr V8 based on the same mustang engine...

Ford Oz is getting that Coyote 5ltr V8 engine as well I think!

Mustang?
Too funny. I mean no one is really taking this seriously, right? That a Ford Mustang might be comparable on some level wit an M3???

Thanks Stan for this full test.  :)

I remember I posted this shocking comparo couple months ago: http://www.theautounion.net/index.php/topic,6704.msg82123.html#msg82123

Yes guys there was a 5.4L Mustang, it's called the Ford Cobra R. When Ford intoduced this 300 limited-edition sport model it was a really fast car on racetracks...even better than the E92 M3 & 2010 Mustang GT 5.0L of today. Read by yourself the specs: With only 385hp this car was capable to do 0-60 in 4.4 sec, 1/4 miles in 12.3 sec and pulls 1.01g in cornering !  :good:

^^^ I remember this car from Gran Turismo. Still, I'd rather take the beemer

Comparing a Mustang with an M3 has no sense IMO. They play in different leagues. For less money you could even get a Ultima GTR with 620hp - does it make it any better than those two? I don't think so.
