Ken Block Gymkhana 3, Part1
« on: 31-Aug-2010, 18:38:37 »
Don't really like this hip hop style gymkhana... hope the second part is just about Kenn's skills and many crazy fast drifts :drive:

Blck Hip Hop + DC + Rally car = wrong combination.  :bad: :bad:

In my book DC' products are associated with Skate & Snowboard sports...not with Hip Hop culture fashion.

Ken Block has downgraded with his Whigazz attitude & style.  :bad:

Anyway, Loeb, Hirvonen, Solberg etc...can do better stunts than him on the pro WRC tour.  ;)

Hate to say it since I can't do it myself but these vids are becoming boring to me..  :nutz

Like Schwalbe said, WRC drivers are it! And they've got their ass and the manufacturer and the sponsors on the Line, Ken Block doesn't..

I think the first one was the best, when he wasn't commercially known. By the time he did the 2nd one, with Dyrdek he had already been on Nitro Circus, Fantasy Factory and I think, Rob & Big. Not to mention the Mountain Lab video.

I don't really know what the hell this is. Other than crap. I was hoping to see some trick driving, instead, I get....whatever that was.  :bad:
Point it. Punch it.

If your mechanic doesn't have a story about crossing plug wires, he either hasn't been a mechanic for very long, or lies out his ass

there is a lot of crossover between the skate/ boarding culture and hip hop culture.

that being said, this is the lamest of the series.

So true! To be honest, I didn't had much expectations on him, and he doesn't have an official car like Hirvonen or Latvala... but he's way off the pace to be considered a top rally driver IMO

It's nice to do donuts with a 550hp Impreza in an empty harbour... but doing the same at 200 km/h in a narrow mountain road is a very, very different story...

Its the same like watching F1, we all know we can do it better, but if so why aren't we in that seat but sitting on the couch with a snack and a beer?

It also helps to be either mega-rich, or able to bring a mega $$$ sponsor to the table..... I agree, it also takes talent to get to the front, but all it takes is money & balls to get on the grid. I gurantee you, any TAU member, given the opportunity and time in the car, could compete in any kind of car racing. Car racing is 90% car (re:$) and 10% driver.
