Doesn't sound very professional of ferrrari. The F40 was stuck together by glue aswell and never had any problems..
The F40 was a clear case of "form follows function", while the latest models are pretty much the opposite. Something similar, although not as dramatic, happened with early models of the 599: I remember some of them also ending up in fires
Well like you stated, just goes to show that the Ferrari which was just a chassis, an engine, 4 wheels and a plastic body without any electronics or other devices was THE best! Well at least in my mind..I remember JC saying about the 599 that it looked liked Ferrari had lost its sense of humour and was taking it all to seriously, I did understand him back then. But with him now testing the F458 and saying its the best Ferrari ever he contradicts that a bit..
The thing is that Ferrari's are for the high-end market. People who pay those prices want luxury and technology in their cars. Many owners aren't even gearheads, proof is in the fact that the manual transmission is no longer offered because of the low demand.
