Royal Marines Exercise in my town
«

There's a big factory in my town which has been empty for years so the Royal Dutch Marines decided to have a exercise in it yesterday, a terrorist attack and hostage situation were simulated. The police closed the whole area down for the public but me and my neighbour found a little gap in a fence and did manage to get some of the action on film
Chinook helicopter came damn close to us, what a noise that thing makes!

nice indeed!
@ yeckmohr, looks like the Marines Intervention Unit (formerly BBE; Bijzondere Bijstands Eenheid / special assistence unit).
They're a Marince Corps Special Forces unit, specialized in CQB / counter-terrorism. They're deployed within Holland if our police SWAT units are overwhelmed. The other Marine Corps Special Forces are a Mountain Leader unit and a Special Boat Squadron, which typically operate outside of Holland. The majority of the Marine Corps is non-special forces, but still highly trained light infantry (with tight links to the UK Royal Marines).
The KCT (Commandos / army Green Berets, the main Special Forces unit of the Netherlands) also has its own CQB / CT teams, which will typically be deployed if their specialty is required overseas.

i read a book about a german paratrooper, who was fighting with the KCT in afganistan and he was really impressed by their professionality, there was a huge documentation about them in a german magazine, which i buy every two months
