2001 Audi B5 RS4
« on: 28-Sep-2010, 14:46:21 »
The stable was in desperate need of another 381hp  and after missing the shot on this car earlier this year, I had to act quickly when it resurfaced. Finding a B5 RS4 with less than 60.000km (37.000mi) is very rare, and the prices have been rising all over. Because of the financial crisis, and CO2 tax, cars like this have been slightly lower in Norway the past year than before and stronger CO2 taxes meant that importing one from Germany would be a lot more expensive than getting one in Norway. (if you can find one with very low milage)

Had an absolute blast driving it from Bergen 530km over the mountains yesterday......and jeeees it's much faster than the RS2 and so much stronger in the bottom end  :woohoo:

Even if there are some things that have to be changed on the car right away (mirrors, rear lights, wheels) 57.000km makes it a very good starting point.

Congrats Skaala, the previous owner had pretty wild imagination i see  your plans with it looks very reasonable. Cannot really imagine the pull of 380HP it must be something beeing it a "normal" avant

AWESOME !!!!!!!! Congrats Thomas, I'm so glad for you that you bought my favorite RS model of all time.  :good:

57K is such a low mileage, that's incredible ! I fully understand that it was rare to find in Norway for a good price too.

As you underline, there's a couple mods to do ''NOW'' and others in the future. We all know that you will completely transform this car into an awesome full black B5 RS4 beast !  ;) :good: :good:

You give me another reason to do the impossible to attempt the RR2011.

Cheers !

Congrats on your new car, Thomas!  :good:

Like the RS2 it's such an understated performance car. I love that! Can I book a ride for next time at the NS? ;)

Awesome car! And with such a low mileage! I agree with the "back to original mods", bad taste of the original owner. Oh, and black 19" BBS CH's would look epic on this car!!

I wish you lots of happy and safe kilometers :good:

Winterwheels and Snowtires........what to chose? Rubber will be 235/40/18 Nokian Hakkapelitta studless snowtires with scandinavian rubber compound.

OZ Racing Superturismo GT or BBS CH

No question here, definitely the 19" BBS CH's in black if you focus on a Full black theme only, but I must to admit I'm a really fan of the classic one with chrome bars on top, chrome mirrors and silver BBS CHs.  ;)

CH's in silver! In the winter, black wheels will just turn grey/white anyway from the salt ;)

As cool as going all black is, silver CH's will make it look nice, classy, and bad ass.

For the summertires, I will go for BBS CH Black edition 10x19 ET20 with 265/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, but to get the correct "deep look" in the center of the wheel (like in the pic) I have to buy the wheels in 10x19 made for BMW with ET20, and have them rebuildt in Sweden to fit correctly on a RS4.

In this pic, the normal ones in 8,5x19 are on the left, and the super nice 10x19 ones are right. For the wintertires I dont care with an expensive rebuild, and will go for normal ones like the one on the left.

Just found out that the OZ Racing wheels only come in 8x18 max, and I want a wider wheel incase I want to have some track tires on them...Toyo R888 or something. The BBS wheels comes in 8,5x18 and 9x18.

So, silver BBS it is! :)

Awesome and congrats dude! When I first read the about the tail-lights I thought to myself, 'why does he want to replace that tail-lights?' and then I saw them, 'OH'.  :nutz: I'm glad you're going to fix the interior too. I do actually like the blacked-out 'rings though, I'd keep them if it was my car...  I like the detailed topic showing stuff you've bought and plan to buy.
Any engine pics for us?  8)

Congrats for such a nice car! It was the one and only possible replacement for the RS2... and with such a low mileage... OMG!! :good: All the mods you've mentioned sound great: performance mods with a standard look! Nice that you're getting rid of the tail lights and the ugly steering wheel. What about a pair of these to replace the seats?

As for the wheels, I couldn't have picked a better ones: BBS CH in 19" look pretty damn cool on the B5 RS4! :good:

Can't wait to get a passenger lap around the Ring on that thing!
