I still need to buy the PS3 before the game but GT5 is surely a good reason to buy one. Before that I will wait and listen your reports about the game. Please post em. :)

I have now taken the first license, and played a few championships, having a break as a few friends came over with a few beer to play so now they are playing..

Tarmac racing great, snow not so great, have only tried the evo on snow yet, but that one do not behave as an evo does on snow thats for sure...

But holy hell what a game it is so far...it really looks good...

Part of me wants to cut them some slack on that point, but I feel like this franchise is so old and they've delayed this so often that they should have been able to refine this part of the game to as perfect as the rest of them have been.

^^^

I have a PS2 and wheel that I bought for the sole purpose of playing GT4 on. It is the only game I have and most times I just drive on the NS and nothing else. I don't even play that much, but ever since getting a Full HD TV and seeing the trailer of GT5, I'm considering buying a PS3 for the sole purpose of... well, you know how to fill in the rest... :idiot:

Well I only did the snow in arcade mode so no adjustments to the car what so ever and there are alot of adjustments to be made so I am sure I will be able to make the changes needed to get the cars to act as they should on snow, I have not given up on the rally part just need to get there in GT mode to be able to make the adjustments needed...:)

And Stradale it is worth it, I bought an Xbox 360 for the sole purpose of playing Forza while I was waiting for GT5...I didnt like it so it have only been turned on for about 3 hours.......can you say wasted money...

Its abit annoying how there aint no 2 player replays. I used to love the full screen you got with gt3, gt4 was worse with a spiltscreen replay. But now nothing. Servers are down meaning it takes ages to play the game, but KY says there will be updates coming. I thought the 5 years of waiting was so the game was perfect?

I"ve been hearing there is still some image blurring like GT4 suffered. Can anyone confirm that?

I'm going to wait a little while longer before buying everything. Need the PS3, another TV and the wheel set up. Probably a DVD player too so I can move my PS2 into my man cave...

I have not seen any blurring yet, but then again I have not been looking for it either...;)

Why do you need a dvd player?

Why do you need a dvd player?

Because when I got my big screen from my parents (they upgraded to a flat screen) I ditched my other TV which had a built in DVD player and relegated the PS2 to DVD player.  I suppose I could get a blu-ray player and use it...but I think we're just splitting hairs at this point.

I've discovered that having 1 TV is not conducive to playing video games in general, let alone GT4 or F430 Challenge due to wheel set-up/take down so I need another one if I'm going to lock myself in my room and geek out.

Why cant you just leave the PS2 for the movies, and move the PS3 into the mancave?

Hmmm maybe I am not understanding something here.... :?

Because the PS2 is very sensitive to scratches on dvds and has a tendency to skip chapters or freeze, especially on older movies. Once moving to a real dvd player, it's fine.

Picked the game up last Wednesday and already find it hard to leave my apartment. It's a new Gran Turismo game.. you can't go wrong.

They also seem to be continuing a lot of the development through continuous software updates. Even if there are some unpolished items in the game, it looks like they're going to fix them going forward.

Now if only I can get my 1988 Countach to win the Supercar championship..

Well, I gavve up and I've just ordered 320GB PS3 and GT5. Should be getting them this week. Included in the package also something for my wife, Move Starter Kit so the permission to buy was granted more easily

Does the Driving Force Pro wheel work also in PS3? I hope so because I can't afford a new wheel and pedals.
