Automotive plans/wishes for 2011
« on: 26-Dec-2010, 08:11:56 »
As the last week of 2010 has started I thought it would be a good idea to talk about your automotive plans and wishes for 2011.

One of my plans is to shoot this Ferrari 212 F1 car next year.

I visited the owner about two months ago and I had the chance to have closer look to this beautifull car which is full of great details and history. What we are looking for now is a nice location which suits this car. I am thinking of an old workshop in 50's or 60's style. If anybody nows a nice location in Holland, Belgium or Germany please drop me an PM!

On my wishlist for next year is the opportunity to shoot a real exotic like a Bugatti, Enzo, Mc laren or something similar. :)

-acquire race gear (helmet, suit, etc)
-get some real life track time

In reality, I'll probably accomplish the first one. I hope.

Let's start for what I won't be doing in 2011: race with the Clio. Which doesn't mean I won't be driving it, though. Up until september, the car was shared betwen me (read my family) and a friend of mine. He got fired and needed money, so he decided to sell his part to... us. And that's why there's no money for racing this year. That doesn't mean we won't drive the car: we plan to do trackdays with a passenger seat installed... so expect some fun clips with our girlfriends and buddies having a "hard" time...

With the money we save, we plan to buy proper tools and parts and may be some tent. Basically because this is the year my brother is also getting into rally with the 320is.

As for motorshow, well... Geneva, Frankfurt, Top Marques (although more for the cars on the road than for the show itself - which is kinda crappy to be honest)...

One of my goals, though, is to restore the GT Turbo back to its original shape, which means I'll have to buy bumpers (front and rear), a new grille, and do a complete respray. Should be within the budget... I hope.
