For those who don't know him, he was an active member of Jabbasworld back in the day, who became a car journalist and photographer. He doesn't post too much on TAU, though.

He just posted this vid on FB:

I just finished watching the vid on FB and thought that I might put it here... well, only if we didn't have our biggest spammer onboard, who's faster than Chuck Norris' butterfly kick

Ciril is really one lucky bastard!!! :) :good:

Hey guys! Thx for all the positive comments.

Driving the LF-A on the Ring was ... well, unforgetable.
It was my first time on the Nordschleife (I've driven on the GP circuit before) and I was blown away by the track, as you can probably see in the video :)

And I never thought, that my first time would be in a freakin' supercar. The car itself (drove it on normal roads too) imo offers a trully relaxed espirience. It's comfortable, the seats are comfortable, damping is very well sorted out ... the innitial bite of the breaks is a bit strong and it took some getting used to.

The engine is obviously a masterpiece. If I (on normal road, but fast driving) wasn't paying attention to the rev counter, I was shifting up much sooner than needed. I shifted at like 6,5 or 7k rpm ... and felt like a tool, when I saw how much revs I had to spare ... but after a few short miles, I got used to it ...

I got to 290 on the autobahn and up to 257 on normal roads - don't tell anyone

The feeling in the cabin is interesting. High tech mixed with such great detail as wiper stalks, which are so thin and delicate, you're affraid you'd break them. There's nothing oldschool about this car.

The amount of grip is overwhelming. I really had to provoke the car to get it out of it's comfort zone. The TC works with the driver, the breaks give a good feel and when driven hard, are VERY progressive. Ofcorse, that innitial bite I was talking about earlier is not a factor on the track ...

steering is good, not lotus light, but firm - gives a lot of confidence ...

The Ring expirience wasn't a terrefying one, even with all the power ...

The sequential gearbox is fast on downshifts but slow on upshifts. Tha slow part, interestingly, bothered me on normal roads but not on the track. I guess I wass too bothered with the whole tones of adrenaline going trough my body ... What I liked especially, was the sound of the shifts ... it was a clear mettalic sound (am I making sense here?), and unlike the double clutch gearboxes, it gives a mechanical feel that goes togehter well with the car ...

I'm not a fan of how the LF-A looks, especially the rear end. And just now I've realised, that I had no intention of writting a review, but just to say thx :)

anyway, I got to do four laps. The first and the second were behind two proffesional drivers in a IS-F, which was a bummer, because the LF-a is sucha a faster car and I got frustrated after three or four corners ... they (the pros) afterwards said that the managed to get away from most journalists, which made me wonder what the hell were they doing?!? right?

A pro named Dani Clos even said that I was probably the fastest journalist out there. I didn't feel like that, because I made a bunch of mistakes, and didn't get maximum speeds out of majority of the corners ... but for the most part, I think I did well.
And yes, the playing GT5 a bit helped a lot.

That's it I guess ... Hope to get some pics ups soon... and the other videos.

Later!

Man, I lost that video of the 4200 :(   I know that it was in the video vault on Jabbasword, but I don't know what happened with it after that. My computer crashed and I lost the only copy I had on CD :(  I would KILL to see is one more time :(

I'm affraid that the Vault was mostly erased as the latest video now is dated to 28th of March 2009. So I guess all previous vids vere simply removed :(
Maybe if you could tell me when did you upload that vid (roughly) and what colour had the 4200, I could throw a question, if someone still has it

I'm happy for you Cyril. Dani Clos is a catalan driver who cometes in the GP2 series and has tested some F1 cars as well, so he probably knows what he's talking about! :good:

Nice to see you posting on TAU, and hope to see you at Frankfurt soon, even if it's just to say hi! :)

well, I hope I'll be posting more :)

Dani came to my car after we were done with the first lap and said: "fuckin' hell, how many times have you driven the nordschleife ..." - I was sure, he was joking, but he insisted, that I was really fast ... felt good, as you can imagine  8)

well, I found the topic where you put pics, but there's no link to the video. So I guess you only posted that vid on the Vault where I can't find it...
