Volkswagen Amarok
« on: 04-Oct-2011, 13:54:24 »
Picked it today from the dealer. Ordered it in July.
This will be my main work car to save km on the RS's.(and fuel!) Will also use it for all work related driving including exhibitions, travelling etc. (often hauling a trailer) I will also get a car trailer later so that I can drive to trackdays with the RS4 on the back. Roughly I can save about 6000km on the RS4 every year. Only for the RR, it is approx 2500km in total just directly to and from the ring++++ Given that the RS4 is regularly tracked hard, I will not accept the term "trailer queen"!

Awesome buy. They have just been released for the first time in OZ and all the reviews were awesome.
You'll have to do a review on it boatie. These are $55-60k in Oz. But the full blown Hilux and Ranger are the same price so will be interesting to see what its like long term!

means you'll tow the RS4 to the ring next time too?

I wasn't familiar with this model, but it looks good

I guess the RS will also have orange foil, this will look great on the trailer  :good:

Congratz on the Amarok, but if you bring the RS to the track on a trailer it is a trailer queen....;)
Give a review of the Amarok, as my father are looking into one also could be good to have some driver/owner one know and thrust opinion on the car instead of the salesman and magazine info..

Nice choice to tow the RS4... always wondered why you didn't have a "regular" car instead of using the RS2/RS4 on a daily basis. Wise decision! And I'm with you, the RS4 isn't exactly a trailer queen...

Car is working great, not used to such low fuel consumption! I have done almost 600km and the tank is only at half  (80l capacity)

the car is beeing wrapped in vinyl as I am writing this,  hope to get it back in a few days :)

It is beeing wrapped in 3M vinyl/PVC/foil so that it will look almost like the pic above (orange car with logos) :)

Congrats for the new car. Good to see that it's at least coming from the same automotive group :good:
Just read a comparison review of Amarok and Mitsubishi L200. Amarok won almost all the comparison with style. :good:

don't worry, this will get some laps on the nordschleife as well to earn the sticker on the back
