The non-car Photo Thread
« on: 04-Feb-2008, 00:36:15 »
I remember a thread like this from JW and liked to see some of the pictures everyone takes that arent of cars so thought I'd start one here aswell.

To start my most recent landscapes (and best so far IMO :D) from my first proper trip out with my 17-40 L i got at christmas, so much better than the kit lens

HDR I assume

What program do you use BTW? I tried to shot a couple of RAW pics in the last Montecarlo rally... but to be honest, I don't even know where to start now

The last one isnt, but the rest are.

I use Photomatix, it pretty much does everything for you, all you have to do is get the raw pics to open in the program (i shoot everything in raw anyway) then it merges them together and everything, then you do the tonemapping which is basically just moving different sliders about until it looks right, thats all i did anyway.

you can make three different exposures to put into photmatix from one of your RAW files if youve still got them.

I'll try it this evening, thanks for the tip!

Really nice pics Alan! Sadly my camera broke so no my photography options have been taken away from me. Thinking about maybe getting a DSLR for my next camera. Better star saving, huh.

I love the Highlands! It's a place I wouldn't mind spending a whole month driving up and down, even despite the horrid weather it seems you had :P
