Got the car back from a check at the dealer today. Luckily, no damage at all except from the bumper and foglights, blinkers. Got a good deal for the work to change it, but they wanted €4.200,- for the parts.

Dr.Lovejoy went to Audi Zentrum Flensburg the other day, and I payed yesterday....Almost €2.000,- cheaper in germany, even taking into account the difference in VAT. I'm leaving for Singapore on the 21st and I'm back around the 2nd of February. Car should be back in business first half of February :)

Had a DEFA interior heating system some years ago and loved it. Got a lot of questions from the neighbours if the old opel is now powered by electricty because you had a green cable that you have to plug into the bumper. :D

I now have a webasto system which is even better because I dont need a cable anymore.

So you again have to open the engine? :( sucks so hear

It was not that terrible... since I'm no mechanic I cannot tell you the details, but indeed they had to open the top of the engine, but they only had to change one valve I think :nutz:

... which reminds me that I have to update my brother's M3 topic BTW.

Sorry for the off-topic Thomass

Shit those are expensive parts they're selling in Norway. Although I think we have similar prices in here. I should keep in mind the prices in Germany in case there's need some day.

Have a nice trip to Singapore! :good: I wish I could visit Singapore again!

keep it in mind for the Rebel Run 2010. Do like we usually do on our way to nürburg....we add a stopover and have our car serviced in germany. Well worth it every time :)

^^yecki you should add that his setup a bit upgraded from the vag standart :D

Overall a bit strange here most of the people are complaining about the prices that the main dealer charge compared to a independent dealer.

yes, it is really for sale :nutz: prices may come as a shock to you, but consider the crazy taxes we have here. I'm asking  USD $46.500,-

In germany you can similar cars for about a third of the price....none the less, there aren't that many left on the road, and the prices doesn't seem to go down more.....in 10 years time they'll be worth a lot more.

Just in the last couple of years it seems like the prices have gone up close to 10k US dollars...

well..me and Dr.Lovejoy has returned from Germany with a new bumper, new mesh grilles, new indicator lights and new blinkers...Audi Zentrum Flensburg were brilliant as always, and I even got a €60,- store credit for my next purchase or service  Now that is the first time I have ever gotten from a dealer only purchasing parts.. :good:

Customs as always now it seems... gave us a bad time, completely emptying the car and stripping us down (no cavity search luckily) they had a really hard time understanding that we actually stopped and payed tax both for parts and alcohol (glutenfree beer for my brother)....they were detemined to find something, and at one time a customs guy came screaming in with a new pice of paper he found in the glovebox with parts numbers and names and asking why we had not payed tax for these...I then politely and smiling replied: "these are the same parts!!....that is the purchase order sir...." he then moved back to tearing the parts, bags, clothes, shopping etc.. apart....they also tried to trick us into agreeing to have done a service costing more than NOK 6.000, (€730)- which you have to pay 25% tax for....basterds!....jeees...they were really making an effort to bust us on something...even giving me very rude sarcastic comments about driving such an expensive car (at my age) so far to pick up parts for an 1994 model.....my god they must really love their job..

took us a good hour to load the car again by our selves, and we were out of the customs office around 1:30 in the morning..

first try of the new GoPro HD Motorsport Hero HD cam.....pushed the wrong button and took 680 stills (every 3 sec) instead of video....but this is how it looks (stills that is)

Couldn't you make a complaint about the customs guys? Some of them really are boneheads.

I've had my share epic moments at customs. Crossing the italian border into Switzerland (not the main in Lugano, but a smaller one where we had our hotel) the swiss officers even took us into the office to inspect our luggage.

And coming back from the RR09, we were stopped in the first french petrol station, right after Luxembourg. We were asked if we had drugs (I assume that must be the main road coming from Amsterdam). The told us "if you have a small quantity, that's ok... we'll take it and that's it - but if you have a bigger amount, and you lie... you'll be sent to prison and the car will be held here". Obviously we didn't have any kind of drugs... but they had a look anyway. Funny thing is when they found fake boobs in the trunk, from a bachelor party... and the famous Elvis' sunglasses that my brother used at the Nordschleiffe. They had a good laugh and in 10 minutes we were off...

None of those "inspections" were as tough as yours anyway.... :bad:
