got my car back from the detailers yesterday. the result was amazing. :good: The car is on 14 years now, and there are some small things you cant fix without a respray. The paint is actually a lot darker than I first thougt :) Hardest thing now is that I have to wait 7 days before I can wash it, because the paint protection has to harden for a week :nutz:

There was a lot of dust in theair on the way home from the detailers, and the car is covered in a fine dust, it is actually more shiny :) The camera could not get a focus point

Looks really nice Skaala! How much did you spend on the detailing?

^there was a special offer when I ordered so I got it for $500,-
Normally it is about 1000,- for an stationwagon my size. It includes; hand wash, rubbing, clay cleaning, polish of paint and lights, and sealant on top of the paint.

Looks like a new paint job  :good:

I am going to have to do a major detailing job on my 21 year old paint this summer, doubt it will look as good as your RS2 though!

It looks really good, especially for a 14 year old car! I wish I could get my paint to look that nice. :good:

I want to do something like that to my GT Turbo. After being used for 10 years as a daily drive in a city like Barcelona, the bumpers and paint if full of little scratches and hits. Your RS2 looks fantastic now!

^I've been thinking about this for a few monts now, but I had to kick my ass into gear to just go and do it. No regrets now...hehe, I now wonder why I didn't do this before. Worth every penny, and I'm sure that in Spain/US it is less expensive than in Norway.

^ I asked the price of respraying the GTT in the bodyshop where we usually take our Clio, and the guy there was asking for 1,500€ for the job, with some kind of special paint bla bla bla... and at a "friend's rate" if you know what I mean. As you say... if you start doing numbers, adding a new front bumper here, a rear bumper there, the side stickers - that have to be handmade since they're impossible to find... it sorta puts you back. I know one day I'm gonna end up doing it... but you usually find something else to spend the money on before that

First testfit of the whole naviunit with wireing in the back. Still a lot of trim missing (haven't made it yet ) Also mounted the 3-spoke Airbagwheel today. It feels sooooo much better  than the old thin 4 spoke one. Still having some issues with the speed signal (GALA) to get the navi to work properly, it's pretty confused on where I actually am. More troubleshooting to go :nutz:
I'm going to visit my brother tomorrow, so I have a 450km drive over the mountains...hope the steeringwheelnut holds on

^^^^It's incredible how your RS2 steering wheels looks so similar to my previous B5 A4 sport steering. :D

Your center console looks really better now and the navi system is such a must for and RS2.  :good:

Is it too early for and spring clean up in Norway, the winter is not finished yet.  ;)

BTW, your RS2 looks really awesome and thanks a lot buddy for your cool pix.  :)

a little update:

*rims were sent out to gunmetal powdercoat this morning. (will have them back 5th of may I hope) It's impossible to get the exact colourcode of titan/anthrasite/gunmetal, but it should be pretty close with a little bit of metallic sparkly stuff.
*Xenon dismounted for the MOT on the 29th
*Navi fixed, now coded via vag-com to lambo gallardo to work properly :) All extras like possibility for bluetooth,tv,ipod, dvd etc unlocked so that it can be retrofitted without unlocking it at a dealer.
*Ferodo DS2500 pads front/back ordered at www.RaceShopper.com
*4,5 litres of fresh Agip 10w60 racing oil changed, Bosch platinum plugs ordered
*new coolant/water expansion tank
*all Focal speakers fitted and working, though all on front signal so far..

good news.
had my MOT today, and I got 2 2point flaws. I need to change some bushes in the front subframe, but I already have a new polyurethane set from powerflex at my desk, so no worries. (were going to change these next week anyway) Also, one of the rear calipper pistons were sticking, but that'l sort out when I change the rear pads. Just a little dash of some canned lubricant, and it should be as good as new :)

Can finally refit the xenon lights now  :D

It's so pleasant when they say "ok, you can go" when you're passing the MOT with an old car :P

^yes, sweet.. :D They also told me that they had "looked the other way" at the lack of siderepeaters... all cars now need 6 turnsignals, but the RS2 never came with repeaters in the front wings. TÜV approved it because of the rounded turnsignals from the 993 in the front fender. Some MOT places here actually demand you drill a hole in the wing and mount a new indicator.
