Thats a shame Thomas, to bad I cleaned up my garage as I had a few parts after my time as an RS2 driver, I thru away the wiperfluid reservoir as I didnt think I would need it anymore, I still got a set of fog lights tough...

yep, some battlescars you have to "plan" for. Thw bumper was completely gone at the end of today with only the top part with the washer jets intact. all electrics are still good. :)
Yes, we are in Sigdal...but -34 is too cold to be standing and driving on a frozen lake all day...there was so much snow-smoke behind the cars that there was a lot of waiting between cars for the snow to settle. Except from the bumper the car ran perfect all weekend, and even in such low temperatures it fired right up every morning. I must have jumpstarted a dozen cars the past days :)

I have 1200 pics to go through the next days, so a pic picture thread will come. A lot of very powerful quattros this year :good:

It doesn't take that long, but I left the car running for about 40min every morning while I had breakfast. In my car the heater doesnt start before the engine pass 50 degrees The main problem many had with the cold was that the coolant either froze solid or was turned into slush. I had a mix that could take -45 so mine was fine. A lot of batteries were also turned useless during the night.

parts were ordered today at Audi Zentrum Flensburg, and Dr.Lovejoy will bring them back  :D :good:

People who live in areas that get very very cold in the winder usually have a garage, or a webasto or Defa engine or engine+coupe heater. Some you connect via a cable from your house, and some run on the fuel in the tank. The ones connected via cable also trickle charge the battery, keeping it full all the time.

Both the S8 and Q7 have a petrol driven soulution from Webasto that heats the engine and coupe of the car. You can switch it on half an hour before you drive, and the car will be nice and warm. They're also running coolant which can withstand -45 and Exide Maxxima DC Gel batteries that (same we use in the lifeboats at work)

Sucks to see the RS2 like that Thomass, especially when you already decided to sell it. 2500.- € worth of parts is quite a lot... but well, shit happens. My brother bended a valve of his M3, in a trackday last month

BTW, -34ºC is ridiculous!!!!! :nutz:

When it's really cold in Quebec I usually start my car with my remote for 5 to 10 mins and that's it. Can you beleive that even if it's freaking cold here as all Scandinavian countries we have a stupid law in Montreal about running your car parked. You are allow to run your car parked in the cold for only 5 Minutes maximum. :nutz: Damn Eco earth, Green stupid fuckers.

it is the same law here, but I was in the middle on nowhere in the mountains and I think the nearest policestation was an hour drive away or so...and in this cold, I dont think they care about people running their cars overnight...they probably do the same :)

Yes! Can absolutely recommend it for everyone, even if you don't need -40 degree starts.

Had a DEFA interior heating system some years ago and loved it. Got a lot of questions from the neighbours if the old opel is now powered by electricty because you had a green cable that you have to plug into the bumper. :D

I now have a webasto system which is even better because I dont need a cable anymore.

My brother bended a valve of his M3, in a trackday last month

So you again have to open the engine? :( sucks so hear
